How does CBD work?

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD oil, is one of the most popular substances found in the cannabis plant. Usually confused with THC that triggers psychoactive effects, CBD oil acts completely different. It doesn’t make the user high, cause dependency, and has very low toxicity level. CBD is safe to use, as it doesn’t cause side effects prescription medications usually cause. The key to CBD treatment is that it can balance low levels of endocannabinoid out. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is crucial for managing pain and inflammation. This system is the main channel between the brain and the body, regulating the way we react to external influences (stress and pain), feel, and move. CBD communicated with the ECS receptors that contain enzymes within. These enzymes break down the complex CBD components into simples ones and facilitate the absorption for different parts of the body.

Dosage

Patient’s weight, the type and severity of their headaches/migraines, and tolerance to CBD supplements play a big role in dosage. We recommend 5 to 10mg of CBD for the start. From there, you can increase the dose until it feels comfortable. Sometimes, it takes up to 90 minutes for your dose to take full effect, other times it takes 10, depending on the factors we listed above.
